Commemorative coins of the European Union

Coins issued by EU member states are of different kinds:

Commemorative coins are 2 euro coins suitable for normal circulation and minted from 2004 by the European Monetary Union member countries to commemorate special occasions or events: the first commemorative 2 euro was coined in Greece to celebrate the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens.

2 euro commemorative coins have the same common side of normal 2-euro coins, but they adopt a specific national side; they celebrate events or people of interest of each country and are shown in the following tables.
