Coins of Lithuania

Catalog of Lithuanian coins

Lithuania has been a part of the European Union since May 2004. Previously, the litas (LTL) was the official currency of the country before the introduction of the euro in 2014. The term "litas" derives from the ancient Lithuanian name for a unit of weight. The litas was divided into smaller units called "centas".

The Bank of Lithuania is responsible for managing the country's monetary policy and supervising its financial system.
